Biography: Kai Hermsen

Kai Hermsen is an expert in digital transformation, cybersecurity, trust in digital technologies, and leadership within this space. He believes all people need to understand current digital topics and how they impact their lives to enable democratic decision-making and good stewardship of our societies.

At Siemens, he demonstrates in practice how to transform and build trust through leading the “Charter of Trust”, a global initiative of 17 Fortune 500 companies collaborating to strengthen the security of the digital space. In doing so, he draws on his experience as a business consultant, an expert in the hotel and catering industry, a paramedic, and a father of two.

Besides his day job, Kai is also the co-founder of TWINDS foundation, which is concerned with developing fair and user-centric digital identities.

He earned an MSc in CEMS and International Management at Rotterdam Business School and University College Dublin and a BSc in International Business from Maastricht University and Buenos Aires University.
