Tobias Jaeger

Tobias Jaeger is a fractional and interim CFO, deal architect and Harvard-trained negotiator. He runs the finance side of IP-heavy growth companies — media and entertainment, MedTech and life sciences, cyber and defense, technology — so founders can build.

Across 15+ years he has held CFO, COO, CEO and Chief-of-Staff seats in six industries, on three continents, in four languages and eight currencies, for clients and employers in twelve countries. He has structured and closed $450m+ in deal volume, originated sell-side mandates, raised equity and debt from Series A onward, secured a European banking licence, and led two financing rounds for a cyber-defense venture. He is fluent in US GAAP, UK GAAP, German HGB and IFRS — and in the people who sit behind every number.

The other half of the practice is downside. Tobias is a Certified Fraud Examiner and a member of the Association of Corporate Investigators, and has spent his career helping organisations targeted by fraud, extortion, money laundering, sabotage and corporate espionage across the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, the Netherlands, South Africa and Brazil. He teaches that experience at two of the world’s established finance institutes — the Amsterdam Institute of Finance and the New York Institute of Finance — in executive programmes on operational risk, organisational resilience, crisis management and cybersecurity, built for the senior leaders who own the downside. He also serves as a lay judge at the District Court of Berlin.

He is the creator of the Global Entertainment Index, a ten-year total-return benchmark covering 90 entertainment companies across 15 countries and 10 segments, weighted so that relevance rather than market cap decides influence. He hosts and produces Media CFO, the show about the money, deals and dealmakers behind the global entertainment industry.

Tobias holds a BSc in International Business from Maastricht University, with studies at the Mays Business School at Texas A&M University. He has completed executive programmes at Harvard Law School’s Program on Negotiation, Stanford Graduate School of Business, Erasmus University Rotterdam and the New York Institute of Finance, and is a 2024 American Council on Germany Young Leader.

He is at home in Berlin, London and Los Angeles — and is an avid reader, passionate about connecting people, technology, aviation, and adding more stamps to his passport.
